Role Overview:
Biyork Materials Canada Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Product Manager, Data Analytics to support our Product Management and Marketing division in Markham, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role plays a key part in bridging product strategy, data analysis, and market insight to drive the success of our flooring product lines.
The Assistant Product Manager will be responsible for managing the full product lifecycle—from concept development and sample testing to market launch and performance review—while leveraging data analytics to guide decisions and improve business outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Sales, Operations, Finance, R&D, and our overseas manufacturing partners to ensure products meet both market demand and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Lifecycle Management: Support the end-to-end management of assigned product lines, including concept development, design coordination, sample testing, mass production, and lifecycle updates.
- Market and Competitor Analysis: Collect, analyze, and maintain market intelligence and competitive product data to support strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends.
- Data Analytics and Reporting: Develop and maintain product and sales performance dashboards; analyze data using statistical methods to deliver actionable insights and recommendations to management.
- Pricing and Cost Management: Assist in setting and updating product pricing, maintaining item costing accuracy, and ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and R&D teams across Canada and Asia to ensure smooth coordination and alignment on business goals.
- Technical Documentation: Collaborate with the technical and R&D teams to review product specifications, ensure data accuracy, and finalize installation, warranty, and claim-related documents.
- Claims and Quality Support: Manage and track product claims, ensuring all necessary information is collected, reviewed, and communicated efficiently to resolve issues.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through data-driven process optimization and improved communication between internal teams and overseas suppliers.
- Travel Coordination: Occasionally travel (approximately 10%) to visit manufacturing partners in Asia and key customers in North America for product review and business development purposes.
Employment requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a closely related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or market research within the manufacturing, consumer goods, or building materials industries.
- Experienced in managing product data and market analysis, turning complex data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and product lifecycle, with proven ability in pricing strategy, forecasting, and cost analysis to support business planning.
- Coordinate with global vendors and partners across Asia and North America to manage sourcing, logistics, and material flow.
